one of the first things we need to do to reform the War on Drugs is throw away the word "drug" to describe these substances. "Drug" is a word that carries too much political baggage, and besides, using one politically-framed word to describe these substances is like calling all ocean life "fish." This is something only stupid people do. We need to be better than this.

The term that more accurately describes these substances is "secondary metabolites."

Here is a new classification system that corrects the failures of the Controlled Substances Act:
CLASSIFICATION OF SECONDARY METABOLITES

CLASS ONE- animal/ human metabolites (naturally produced and contained).
Regulation type: none

CLASS TWO- botanical metabolites (naturally produced and contained).
Regulation type:
1-private use: none
2-commercial use: registration, tax I.D., standard
regulations for business transactions,
product safety, etc.

CLASS THREE- metabolites (including alcohol) extracted through chemical processes
Regulation types:
type: 1-age restriction
type: 2-by prescription only
type: 3-general commercial use: registration, tax I.D., standard
regulations for business transactions,
product safety, etc.
type: 4-extracted metabolite without a type definition
(unknown)

I wrote this so anyone could copy and paste as a letter to one's representative.

Our American season is one of political oppression under the War on Drugs. Individual lives are being ruined, families broken apart, property seized, the unwanted and the mentally ill incarcerated, while liberty is slowly and deliberately suffocated. All because of a series of bad ideas that result in the War on Drugs.

The 1969 Controlled Substances Act is a body of distorted scientific data that has no Constitutionally reasonable basis. Yet, it persists still to this day.

The government will not correct itself anytime soon. Correction is the job of We The People, and We must be heard.
