TDA Adopts Revised Rules for Texas Hemp Program
March 6, 2020Monday: Texas Farmers Can Apply to Grow Hemp!
March 15, 2020As you may have seen, the City of Austin has issued a state of emergency and have canceled SXSW. Since it was announced yesterday afternoon, we have been working with locations, speakers and musicians to ensure our events can move forward. Here is a status update on there events:
Ask the Doctors featuring Dr Ethan Russo and Dr Sue Sisley: 3/19/20 from 6-8pm – This event is still on! We are working with the Doctors to ensure quality content to all of our attendees. To do so, we will now be hosting this event as an interactive livestreamed Ask Me Anything (AMA) during the originally schedule event time (3/1920 from 6-8pm CST). This means that now means the doctors will be able to engage with more participants, not just from Texas but anywhere! We will update the event graphic and web page to reflect these changes. You can still register for this event HERE. These two preeminent doctors in cannabis research will discuss medical cannabis, their research findings and upcoming research projects. There will be a significant amount of time for a Q&A session where participant will engage with the Doctors.
Texas Cannabis Kickoff: 3/18/20 from 1-6pm – This event is still on! The venue is open and ready for the event. We are coordinating with speakers and musicians to see who will still be able to participate. Since this may affect some of their travel plans, please note that the current agenda may change. Please note that at this time, the current state of disaster is for events that are over 2,500 attendees, as well as several other qualifiers. We will continue to watch for Austin Health Department notices and will follow any directives regarding events. We will update you of any and all changes associated with this event HERE.
Official #SXSWTexasNORML Meetup: 3/19/20 from 3:30-4:30pm – CANCELED. As an official SXSW event, it is cancelled with all of the other panels and meetups. Very disappointing but we respect the hard call the City had to make.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we work diligently to address this unusual and unfortunate circumstance. Please reach out with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Jax Finkel
Executive Director
