Fall Quarterly Social
November 11, 2021#GivingTuesday
November 30, 2021Texas NORML and Austin EMS Association raised awareness around the issue of cannabis disqualification for first responders sending thousands of letters asking the Austin City Council to remove this question. ATCEMS agreed to remove the question! This action would not have happened if not for the support from the NORML community in Austin. Thank you!!

Join Texas NORML for our Quarterly Social! We will hear from speakers, discuss upcoming and current events, enjoy the tunes of the Mau Mau Chaplains and each other’s company. Come on out and get involved so we can change the laws here in Texas and make some new friends while doing it. (DETAILS.)
Doors will open at 8:30pm and there will be $5 cover. 18yo+ event. Agenda TBA.
The original ATX First responder action: With over 400 open Austin EMS, Fire, and Police positions open, it is a disservice to our community to discriminate against prospective hires based on their legal use of cannabis products. Currently, the City of Austin will not hire first responders who have used THC legally or through prescription in the last three years. First responders who have PTSD and a legal prescription to THC should be allowed to work for the City of Austin! PTSD is a condition that is currently covered by Texas’ medical cannabis program.
