May 6, 2019Your senator has the power to help move legislation forward – Ask them to take action!
May 8, 2019As you have probably heard, things are in high gear in the Texas Legislature right now. Due to our work and the efforts of advocates, patients, veterans and medical professionals, we are happy to let you know that our priority legislation is moving! With only 21 days left in the session, every moment counts.
Here is an update of where the bills stand and action alerts related to them:
· HB 63, a bill that would reduce the penalties for possession of 1 ounce of marijuana, passed with a bipartisan super-majority out of the House and now has been received by the Senate. Ask your Senator to support penalty reduction in Texas!
· Remind the Lt Gov that his current position is out of step with the majority of Texans, including the conservative grassroots of his own party. Email or call him today!
· HB 1365, a bill that would allow those with debilitating conditions to access to the Texas Compassionate Use Program (T.CUP) and establish a cannabis research and review board, passed with a bipartisan super-majority out of the House and now has been received by the Senate. Ask your Senator to support medical marijuana in Texas!
· HB 1325, a bill that would allow for agricultural growth, manufacturing and production of hemp, passed unanimously in the House and now has been received by the Senate. Ask your Senator to support industrial hemp in Texas!
It is going to take all of us to get this legislation across the finish line, so please stay engaged through this final leg of the marathon we call the Legislative Session.
