Texas NORML is the state representative, as well as the Austin chapter, of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. In addition to working on marijuana law reform, we also focus on public education and spreading awareness of the issues surrounding marijuana.

Operation Trapped – NOW – from your home. We have launched a one-year project to collect a single used prescription bottle from every state veteran who wants a safer alternative. Austin Pride Parade and Festival – Saturday, August, 27th, 2016 – Austin, TX. Texas NORML will have a booth at the Austin Pride Festival and The Truth Enforcement Vehicle will be in the Pride Parade. Candidate Forum – October Open Monthly Meeting – Wednesday, October 5th 2016 at 8pm – at Flamingo Cantina, 515 East 6th Street, Austin, TX 78701. We hope you’ll join us for the FREE open monthly meeting taking place the FIRST Wednesday of EVERY month. For this meeting, we are putting together a candidate forum for those running for Texas State Representative and Texas State Senator in the greater Austin area. October Traveling Strategy Meeting – Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 from 7-8:30pm – at Catfish Parlour, 4705 East Ben White blvd. Austin, TX. We will discuss strategy, timelines, upcoming General Election and our Texas NORML Voter’s Guide as well as take questions and chat. Follow the event page HERE.

Veteran Conference – Saturday, October 15th, 2016 – at the Texas State Capitol Building. We will feature a wide variety of educators, advocates, and veteran activists. Plus, Dean and Alexis Bortell will be our keynote speakers for this event. We will discuss medical education, legal issues, legislative goals and lobby strategy as well as engaging in Operation Trapped, our veteran initiative.

OperationTrappedOct15 Veterans and patients are pushing the front line of reform in medical marijuana laws in Texas. Many people who are not Veterans also experience PTS, TBI, chronic pain and other health issues. Therefore, we welcome ALL patients to attend our Veteran Conference. After Social to be announced. Member’s Mixer – Saturday, October 29th, 2016 from 4-10:30 pm – at a private venue just minutes from downtown, overlooking Lady Bird Lake.

2016 Members Mixer This is a private event for members and their guests. We will have live music from the Texas KGB and Smoke Sesh Crew with Irie Samurai. Food will be catered by Hot Mama’s with vegan and gluten free options. There will be many fun activities to take part in: Disc Golf, Bocce Ball, Cards, Dominoes, Jenga, a Costume Contest and more!
