April 1, 2020It is 420 all month! Like many of you, Texas NORML had exciting plans that we have had to adjust because of the current public health crisis. Since many of us are doing more things virtually, we wanted to share with you some things of interest for the month of April.
Tonight: Virtual April Meeting at 8pm – Join our special speakers in a discussion about medical cannabis and your endocannabinoid system and regenerative farming. You can join via webinar to ask your questions. You will also be able to watch on our Facebook Livestream and on our Youtube channel. Details.
Monday, April 20th: 420 Stream-A-Thon from 12:30-5:30pm – We welcome a wide variety of distinguished speakers to discuss all things cannabis with us on 4/20! Our livestream programming starts at 12:30pm CDT through our YouTube Channel and our Facebook page. We will discuss medical cannabis, Texas Hemp Program, the political and legislative cycle, advocacy, legalization and more. We will also observe a minute of silence at 4:20pm in honor of the victims of the failed drug war. Listen to our musical guests between presentations. Saturday, April, 25th: Crafting Patient Testimony (Virtual Meetup) at 1pm – We want to bring Texas patients together virtually to focus on their testimonies for the upcoming 2021 Legislature. The Texas NORML Patient Advocacy Team along with the Executive Director will go over the basics of how to craft your testimony. This event will be an interactive livestream and will have a portion for Q&A at the end. Details.
Please also participate in our current action alert, asking Governor Abbott to institute a statewide moratorium on arrests for small amounts of marijuana and call a special session to legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana for adult use and expand medical cannabis access. Act now!
